Parag Shah

Parag Y. Shah is a mediator, arbitrator and special master for Miles Mediation & Arbitration. Parag specializes in mediating personal injury cases, arbitrating hospitality matters, and serving as a special master in international disputes. Parag also serves as the Professional Development Coordinator for Miles Mediation & Arbitration. Parag's unique qualifications come from his diverse personal and professional background.

Parag is of Indian descent and grew up in a small town in Arkansas where his family was involved in the hotel industry. Parag eventually left the small town and moved down to Atlanta where he started his own law firm, The Shah Law Firm, specializing in personal injury and criminal defense.

As an attorney, Parag has been acknowledged as Georgia’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Daily Report, a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers Magazine, Georgia Trend Magazine, & the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association; "AV" rated by Martindale Hubbell; and rated 10 out of 10 by Avvo.com.

Parag has also found success wearing a number of hats. In 2016, Parag was appointed as a Pro Hac Judge to the City of Atlanta Municipal Court. He was also elected to represent the 5th District for the Council of Municipal Court Judges.

Parag is currently an adjunct professor at Ohio Northern University Law School where he teaches negotiations, jury selection, depositions and cross-examination. Parag speaks at seminars across the state and country on personal injury and mediation. He is also a former faculty member for the Georgia Trial Skills Clinic, GACDL's Bill Daniel Trial Program and AAJ's Deposition College. In addition, Parag has run a criminal defense externship program through John Marshall Law School in Atlanta.

Parag regularly provides legal commentary on CNN and HLN. He has been featured on "Nancy Grace", "Crime and Justice", "Weekend Express", and NPR's "This American Life."

Parag is the author of three Georgia pocketbooks: The Code Criminal, The Code Civil and The Code Evidence. He is also the author of the Municipal Benchbook which are all currently published by MyCLE.

Parag is a member of a number of local and national associations and charities, including Side by Side Brain Injury Clubhouse and Nicholas House.
